Scholar on Tour

In the spirit of supporting the professional development of feminist scholars in the region, the Scholar on Tour opportunity is available to yet un-tenured faculty, and graduate students at member institutions and adjunct faculty residing in the Greater Philadelphia region. Each individual will travel to one or two campuses within the consortium network to deliver a talk about a topic of their choosing.

Scholars are asked to submit a talk description and a short 200-word biography.

The consortium will announce the opportunity through our website, social media (Instagram), mailing list, and newsletter (released in mid-to-late February and early October), encouraging member institutions to invite scholars to their campuses.

We can support 3-4 scholars per academic year. Scholars are asked to present either in-person or hybrid, which is important to build networks among feminist scholars in the region.

The GPGSWSC pays each speaker an honorarium, which includes travel expenses to and from their host campuses. Each speaker receives $1000 for one talk and $1500 for two talks. Details of payment are discussed in detail when the connections to campuses are made.

Please apply through the form below, if you have any questions please contact us.
