Request Event Funding

The Greater Philadelphia Women’s Studies Consortium offers three types of funding opportunities: the Student Travel Fund, Event Funding, and Lecture Tours.

For more information and application guidelines, please see the details below.

Student Travel Fund

Student Travel Fund

The Student Travel Fund supports undergraduate and graduate students who are traveling to attend the National Women’s Association Conference or are conducting research on feminist concerns.

To be considered, students must fill out a short application that requires you to upload:

  • A 500-word statement of intent and purpose.
  • A budget outlining expected travel expenses.

Please upload all materials as a PDF.

Request Event Funding

The GPWSC offers funding to support events hosted by consortium members that focus on themes related to women’s, gender, and sexuality studies.

Events must be free and open to the public, and can include panels, lectures, and other formats. Funding can be used for speaker fees, materials, and other event related costs.

Please use the form below to submit your event proposal.

Junior, Adjunct, Recently-Tenured Faculty Lecture Tours

In the spirit of supporting untentured and recently tenured faculty with their professional development, we will organize lecture tours for three or four junior, adjunct or recently-tenured faculty. Each one will travel to two campuses within the consortium network to deliver a talk about a topic of their choosing.

The consortium will announce the opportunity, request talk descriptions, and dates they are available to give this talk. We will then contact all consortium members to ask them to invite these scholars to their campuses.

The GPWSC pays each speaker an honorarium, which includes travel expenses to and from their host campuses.

Each speaker will receive $1500 for two talks and $1000 for one talk.
